The Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southeast Missouri State University announces the fifth annual Southeast Innovation Challenge to coincide with this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 16-20.
The competition gives current students the opportunity to be heard and win prizes for providing an innovative solution to a student campus experience.
Interested students are required to attend one of the informational sessions on Zoom at noon Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21 or Oct. 28 (Room Meeting ID: 936 3106 1643; Passcode: Catapult).
The Southeast Innovation Challenge is open to teams of one to three undergraduate students enrolled in at least 12 hours and graduate students enrolled in at least six hours. Teams must attend an informational session held on Zoom (noted above) and complete an online registration form to participate. After the teams have researched and developed their solutions, they will submit a two- to three-page Executive Summary and three-minute pitch video online by Oct. 30 for a panel of judges to review. Judges will score entries based on how impactful, innovative and feasible the idea is.
The top three teams will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The prizes consist of $750, $500 and $250 for first-, second- and third-place respectively to be split amongst team members, less applicable taxes.
