Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra to Present ‘Symphony Sampler’


CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 7, 2010 — The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Sara Edgerton, will present a brief, light-hearted preview of the upcoming 2010ᾰ2011 Symphony Season on Sunday, Sept. 19, at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus. 

This short information concert will be performed at 2 p.m. in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall.

Short selections of music from this season’s concerts will be performed, and the audience will have the opportunity to purchase individual or season tickets to the symphony.  The concert is free and is open to the public.

The program will include short selections of music by George Gershwin, Edward Elgar and Franz Schubert.  At the conclusion of the concert, there will be a drawing for pairs of free tickets to each of the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra 2010ᾰ2011 concerts.

Come and hear some highlights of the upcoming Symphony Season, and enjoy the beautiful acoustics of the Shuck Recital Hall, on the River Campus at Southeast Missouri State University.  Those attending may enter their name in the drawing for free tickets.
