Southeast Music Faculty, Students Combine in ‘All Minimalism’


thompson-paulThe Southeast Department of Music will present “All Minimalism” on Sunday, Sept. 25, in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast’s River Campus.

The program, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., will feature more than a dozen Department of Music faculty collaborating with music students in three works by masters of Minimalism, John Adams, Gavin Bryars and Arvo Part.  The highlight of the concert will be a performance of “Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet,” Bryars’ seminal work from 1971 and one of the most significant examples of Minimalist composition.
