Southeast Music Students Performing at Saturday Serenades May 5

Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music students will perform a series of new musical pieces as part of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri’s Saturday Serenades at 6 p.m. on May 5.

The event is free and open to the public.

This edition of Saturday Serenades will feature works written by Southeast student composers under the guidance of Dr. Robert Fruehwald, professor of composition at Southeast.

Saturday Serenades is a musical performance series featuring music composers, ensembles and solo artists presented by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 16 N. Spanish Street in downtown Cape Girardeau, on selected Saturdays.

The program will feature several musical pieces in a variety of styles and instrumentation. The concert is a great opportunity to experience and support the next generation of music creators.
