MTS supports full-time faculty members in creating master course templates for high-need online courses and programs. Master template courses provide high quality design and content for online courses and can be taught by adjunct or full-time faculty members. The courses also provide flexibility for academic departments to open new online sections with greater assurance of quality.
The program kicked off in May with a two-week online course which allowed participants to experience online from the student’s perspective while learning course design principles. On June 4, Southeast Online hosted a one-day workshop at Southeast’s Catapult Creative House and included discussions with staff from the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning and Dr. Bethany Alden-Rivers, associate provost.
Southeast Online is currently planning a second cohort this fall. Faculty members interested in participating can contact Dennis Kinkead, online instructional coordinator with Southeast Online, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
