CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 14, 2012 — Southeast Missouri State University is listed this week among the best regional universities in the Midwest in the 2013 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report.
Southeast has been consistently ranked by the publication since 1993.
Institutions categorized as regional universities offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s programs but few doctoral programs.
Best Colleges includes the rankings of nearly 1,400 schools nationwide. The 332-page 2013 edition of the Best Colleges guidebook is available at www.usnews.com/colleges and will be on newsstands Sept. 18. Southeast Missouri State University has reported enrollment growth for 18 consecutive years and in 2011 was the second fastest growing public, four-year university in the state of Missouri. “This record of growth demonstrates Southeast’s commitment to serving a wide variety of students and offering the right mix of academic programs for today’s college student population,” said Dr. Debbie Below, associate vice president for enrollment management and director of Admissions. Southeast’s inclusion in the 2013 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report is consistent with other ranking organizations that regularly have selected Southeast Missouri State University among the best colleges and universities in the Midwest.
