CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 16, 2014 – Southeast Missouri State University has been recognized among the best regional universities in the Midwest in the 2015 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.
Southeast has been consistently ranked by the publication since 1993.
“We are very honored that U.S. News has recognized Southeast in its 2015 Best Colleges edition,” said Lenell Hahn, director of Admissions.
The ranking, she said, reflects Southeast’s “commitment to offering high quality academic programs in a student-centered environment with experiential learning, caring faculty and co-curricular opportunities.”
Institutions categorized as regional universities provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s degree programs. The U.S. News rankings are based on graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving.
This year’s 30th edition of Best Colleges includes data on nearly 1,800 colleges and universities.
Southeast Missouri State University has reported enrollment growth for 20 consecutive years.
Southeast’s inclusion in the 2015 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report is consistent with other ranking organizations that regularly have selected Southeast Missouri State University among the best colleges and universities in the Midwest.
