CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., July 29, 2015 – Southeast Missouri State University’s online Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an option in sport management has been ranked among the nation’s top online master in sport management degree programs by The Best Schools.
Southeast’s program is ranked 17th nationally and is the only program in Missouri ranked in the top 25. The program was selected based on several weighted factors, including academic excellence, course offerings, student performance and success, faculty strength and reputation, including reputation for online degree programs. Southeast’s online MBA with an option in sport management is geared toward students interested in the sport management dimensions of business. The courses in the sport management option provide students with the opportunity to apply their business background to the practices within the sport industry. The courses emphasize the unique facility and staffing needs of the sports industry, as well as the unique structure of the sports industry due to the various governing bodies. Courses in the sport management option also address trends in finance and internal structure of sport organizations.
The program is a collaboration of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business and the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation, which is housed in the College of Health and Human Services. The program is accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) and is based in the Donald L. Harrison College of Business which has received accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
