CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 3, 2006 — The Student Alumni Association at Southeast Missouri State University has announced the appointment of new co-presidents, Lauren Benney of St. Peters, Mo., and Cheri Bibb of O’Fallon, Mo.
The Student Alumni Association is a group of committed students who promote the growth of Southeast Missouri State University and cultivate its traditions through the planning of Homecoming and Senior Send-Off.
“This is going to be the best homecoming yet,” Benney said. “There is so much support and enthusiasm at Southeast.”
Benney is the daughter of Mike and Marsha Benney. She is a sophomore pursuing a double major in marketing and dance, with an anticipated graduation in December 2008. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Honors Program and DanceXpressions. Lauren also is serving as the vice president of public relations for GAMMA, group senator of Student Government, and an active member of Delta Epsilon Chi.
Bibb is the daughter of James and Connie Bibb. She is pursuing a degree in family and consumer science, secondary education. During her first year at Southeast, Bibb was active with the Southeast Dance Team. In spring 2005, she joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority and currently holds the position of new member coordinator. She is a member of the Rowdy Crowd, a new organization to promote campus spirit, and she attends all scheduled athletic events to show her Southeast pride. She also is a member of the 2006 Greek Week Steering Committee.
“I’m really looking forward to working with everyone committed to Southeast, and we have some great ideas for Homecoming 2006,” Bibb said.
