Spring 2020 Student Organization Room Reservation Requests Begin Today, Oct. 15


Beginning today, Oct. 15, student organizations may begin requesting space and/or room reservations in main campus academic buildings and the University Center for Spring 2020.

Student representatives may request space three ways:

  1. In person by visiting Campus Life and Event Services, University Center Room 414;
  2. By calling (573) 651-2280 and asking to speak to the Scheduling Assistant;
  3. Or by submitting a request(s) online at https://semo.edu/campuslife/event-services/request_form.html.

Event Services and Scheduling office hours are Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Requests will be date and time stamped as they are received from today, Oct. 15, through Oct. 20 and will be processed in the order they were received beginning Monday, Oct. 21. Requests submitted online prior to today, Oct. 15, for spring 2020 dates will be deleted and groups will be notified to resubmit on or after today, Oct. 15. Summer and fall 2020 reservation requests can be submitted beginning on April 15, 2020.

Please note, Event Services and Scheduling reserves the right to review reservations to maximize space utilization across campus, and there is no guarantee that being first to request a space equals a confirmed reservation for that space.

An example of maximizing space utilization is if Emerging Leaders Facilitators (ELFs) is the first request for the University Center Ballroom A for Mondays weekly from 5-7 p.m. and attendance is seven people, but another request is received from Student Government for the same day and time and with an attendance of 60 people. Event Services and Scheduling would reserve Student Government because there are many more spaces available across campus that would accommodate ELFs than there are to accommodate Student Government’s request.

To assist in scheduling, Event Services and Scheduling asks student organizations to list one to three room preference options. If the top prioritized room is unavailable, Event Services and Scheduling will reach out to the event contact to discuss options prior to reserving to ensure their needs are met.

Event Services and Scheduling is committed to assisting each organization in being successful through providing spaces and resources that achieve individual objectives while providing for a vibrant and involved community across the campus.

University departmental reservations are currently being accepted through December 2020. Event Services and Scheduling will begin accepting University department reservations for the calendar year 2021 on March 1, 2020.
