Students, Women Community Leaders Discuss Gender Equality

Southeast Missouri State University students networked with a diverse group of leading women in the community, discussing gender equality and issues in the workplace at the Balance for Better Forum March 4 in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Featured panelists were Dr. Shonta Smith, associate professor in Southeast’s Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education; Dr. Cassandra Loggins, assistant professor in Southeast’s Department of Nursing; Pam Vargas, director of Southeast’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; Dr. Heather Cugini, physician, gynecologist and department chair of OB/GYN with SoutheastHEALTH; and Cheryl Mothes, financial advisor and general partner with Edward Jones.

The event was sponsored by the Golden Z Club of Southeast Missouri State University.
