Study Abroad Information Session Oct. 24 to Feature Presentation by Alumnus Nick Maddock

Nick Maddock

Nick Maddock, Southeast’s 2017 Distinguished Young Alumni Service Award recipient, will be the featured guest speaker at a Homecoming Week program sponsored by the International Business Programs Office at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall.

Along with Maddock’s presentation, several students who have previously studied abroad in various capacities will participate in a panel discussion about their experiences.  Information about upcoming International Business Study Programs will be available.  Pizza will be served, and all are welcome!

Maddock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast in spring 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in finance and management. He also served as Student Government treasurer and president of the Interfraternity Council, among many other activities.

Dr. Willie Redmond, director of International Business Programs and professor of economics, said Maddock has been “a strong supporter of Southeast’s International Business Study Abroad Programs,” noting he participated in a summer program in Germany and competed in an International Business Case Competition in Belgium. This support led him to establish the Kevin J. Maddock International Studies Scholarship in 2017 to help future Southeast students afford such opportunities.  He also endowed the Nicholas K. Maddock LGBT Ally Scholarship in November 2014.

Since graduating from Southeast, Maddock has worked in several capacities with Capital One and has continued to travel extensively.
