CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 16, 2005 — The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra will hold its second annual Symphony Preview July 24 in Rose Theatre on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The Symphony Preview will feature a free concert at 3 p.m. on the stage of Rose Theatre.
The concert will include a performance of the beautiful “Flute Quartet in C Major” by Mozart, as well as several other works for string quartet. Performing on the concert will be Southeast faculty members Paul Thompson, flute; Brandon Christensen, violin; and Sara Edgerton, cello. Also performing with the ensemble will be Michelle Suhr, violin, and Kyle Miller, viola.
This program of short classical works will provide a sampling of some of the composers whose works will be included in the 2005-2006 Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra Concert Series. One special highlight of the 2005-2006 concert series will be a performance of Mozart’s inspirational Requiem; hence, the Symphony Preview Concert will include a lovely chamber work by the great master.
Information about the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra’s 2005-2006 Concert Series will be available in the Rose Theatre lobby on the afternoon of July 24, and interested patrons will have the opportunity to purchase subscription series tickets for the symphony’s new concert season. The lobby of Rose Theatre will be open from 2:30 to 4 p.m. July 24 with informational displays about the upcoming season. The Box Office also will be open from 2:30 to 4 p.m. that day for the convenience of patrons who may wish to purchase tickets for the symphony series.The public is invited to attend this free concert at Rose Theatre and to learn about the Symphony’s exciting 2005-2006 concert season.
