CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 18, 2012 – Theatre students at Southeast Missouri State University will present a series of one-act plays as the culmination of their “Directing II” projects May 1, 3 and 8 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast’s River Campus.
The three-evening series at 7:30 p.m. will consist of four to five different one-act plays each evening, all of which will run about 20 to 30 minutes in length, according to Dr. Kenn Stilson, interim chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance.
“The styles vary greatly, from original scripts to various genres from contemporary and modern dramatic literature,” he said.
Viewer discretion is advised. Some pieces are for general audiences, while others are for adult audiences only.
“Directing II one-acts are really great fun, and the talent displayed at these is very impressive. They are free of charge and usually well attended,” Stilson said.
