Thiele Honored by School Administrators Association

Dr. Nick Thiele, director of Southeast Missouri State University-Malden, recently was honored by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for his service to public education.

Thiele was one of eight former educators to receive the Association’s Outstanding Emeritus Educator Award at an awards banquet during the MASA Spring Conference April 4 at The Lodge of the Four Seasons at Lake Ozark, Missouri.

“I am humbled to receive this award because it comes from public school leaders who are in our schools every day, working to ensure students receive the high quality education they deserve,” Thiele said. “Choosing me as this year’s recipient of the Educator Emeritus Award demonstrates their commitment to higher education opportunities for their students and communities.  I am truly grateful for this recognition.”

MASA presents the award annually to recognize individuals for the length of administrative service, their participation in MASA while an active member, significant accomplishments as a school administrator and for their continued interest in public education since retiring.

Thiele was nominated for the award by his colleagues in the Southeast MASA District.

Prior to serving at Southeast’s Malden Campus, Thiele had a 29-year career in Missouri public schools, including serving as superintendent of the Bloomfield R-14 School District.
