The Tim and Cathy Goodman Endowed Scholarship has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
The Goodmans, of Jackson, Missouri, made a gift to establish the award.
The renewable scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in accounting finance, entrepreneurship or nursing who is from Cape Girardeau or Dunklin counties. Eligible students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. The University Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.
Tim Goodman is a 1977 graduate of Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting major. He was a member of the men’s track team and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
He has served as president of Benton Hill Investment Company in Cape Girardeau since 2001. He previously was the chief financial officer of Health Services Corporation of America for 16 years. He received his CPA in 1984.
Cathy Goodman is a 1980 graduate of Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She retired in 2017 after serving in various nursing and administrative capacities during her 31 years at SoutheastHealth (Southeast Missouri Hospital). She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She also serves as a Regent to Saxony Lutheran High School and a volunteer at the SoutheastHealth Cancer Center.
