CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 3, 2006 — The University Choir at Southeast Missouri State University will be performing its final concert of the year at 8 p.m., April 20 in Old St. Vincent’s Church in downtown Cape Girardeau.
The program for this concert will feature “Ubi Caritas” by Maurice Durufle, “The Stars Behind the Sky” by Rene Clausen, “Laudate Dominum” and “Ave Verum Corpus” by W.A. Mozart, “How Sweet and Fair” (two songs for choir and clarinet) by Stephen Chatman, and “After These Things” by Southeast student composer Adam Carver.
The University Choir, under the direction of Steve Hendricks, is Southeast’s premiere choral ensemble. Open to all University students by audition, this 50-voice choir performs vocal music of the highest qualityᾰnot just from the classical choral repertoireᾰbut spirituals and folk songs from America and abroad.
