The Jazz Lab Band and The Studio Jazz Ensemble will be featured in “An Evening of Jazz” at 8 p.m. March 26 in the University Center Ballroom on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The program to be performed by the Jazz Lab Band will be selected from Sammy Nestico’s “Basie, Straight Ahead,” “Basie’s Barbeque” by Gary Slavo, as well as pieces by Quincy Jones, Sammy Nestico and Louis Primathe.
The Studio Jazz Ensemble will perform pieces from “Told You So” by Bill Holman, “Count Bubba” by Gordon Goodwin, as well as selections by Lou Marini, Oliver Nelson and Lennie Niehaus.
This concert should have something for virtually every area jazz enthusiast, regardless of age. The public is invited.Tickets are $5 for students, $6 for Southeast faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $7 for the public. All tickets will be $7 at the door.
