Southeast President Carlos Vargas recently presented four Southeast Shout-Out Awards.
Congratulations to Dr. Theresa Haug-Belvin, course coordinator and instructor in the University Studies program; Dr. Quantella Noto, assistant professor of hospitality management and hospitality management program director; Dr. Pennie Pflueger, instructor of English; and Dr. Diane Wood, professor of biology.
Haug-Belvin was nominated by Dr. Bruce Skinner, associate vice president for student life, for her leadership and dedication to the development of a custom text for Southeast’s UI100 first-year student seminar course.
Noto was nominated by Skinner for her unwavering service and commitment to her students, in addition to the support she has offered to the family of a former student who passed away this summer.
Pflueger was nominated by a student for her energetic and supportive attitude in and out of the classroom, and for inspiring and challenging all her students to be their best.
Wood was nominated by Dr. Dustin Siegel, associate professor of biology, for her dedicated service on the Faculty Senate over the past five years, and for her tireless efforts to ensure Southeast faculty have equal access to the tools they need to succeed.
Southeast Shout-Out awards celebrate University employees who put forth the extra effort to help, challenge and inspire students, and do whatever it takes to get the job done while encouraging others.
