Five vendors will be making campus presentations next week to discuss redesigning the semo.edu website. An RFP was issued in March, and 13 proposals were received. Those proposals were narrowed to five for campus presentations by a task force comprised of faculty and staff.
Earlier this year, an SEO and Technical Audit was completed by an outside firm to assess the health of the website in regard to search engine optimization (SEO), technical specifications, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, user experience and content. The audit recommended a website redesign to better align our website with recruitment strategies, support our digital advertising investment, enhance the user experience and bring it into compliance.
The semo.edu website was initially created in-house, and this would be the first time the University has invested in the website since its inception. Given the evolution of web and digital strategies in relation to recruitment marketing plus the findings of the audit, a complete redesign is the most efficient and timely solution to address the needs.
