Works for Flute, Piano to Be Featured in Jan. 20 Faculty Recital


CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 9, 2007 — Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music faculty members Paul Thompson and Matt Yount will present a recital of works for flute and piano by French composers at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in Brandt Music Hall, Room 205. 

Three centuries of music from the French tradition will be featured with pieces by Michel Blavet, Louis Ganne, Olivier Messiaen and Claude Bolling.

Southeast percussion professor Shane Mizicko and student bassist Jarred Harris will join Thompson and Yount in the very popular “Bolling Jazz Suite” that will conclude the program.

Tickets are available in advance through the Performing Arts Box Office located in the lobby of the Forrest H. Rose Theatre, by calling (573) 651-2265 and at the door the night of the performance. Senior citizens and students are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to receive applicable discounts.  All tickets will be $7 at the door.
