CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan 12, 2010 — The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University has announced that Kumi Yokozeki, a senior from Iruma-gun, Japan, has been named Recreation Services Employee of the Month for the second time in 14 months.
Yokozeki, a sport management major and business administration minor, will work her last shifts in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) soon before leaving for an academic internship later in January. She has been a valuable part of the staff in the past two years as an employee, said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
“Kumi has been a great part of the student staff in the SRC. Her work ethic and timeliness will be missed,” Vaughn said.
“Kumi has been a staple at the front desk of the SRC-North in recent years,” he said. “She always greeted patrons with a smile and was an excellent worker, seldom late or ever having missed a shift in all of her time working through Rec Services.
“It seems her work with Rec Services has paid off,” he added, “in that she will be completing an internship in a recreation-related field and plans a career in the sports industry.”
