CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Aug. 25, 2006 – A Youth Basketball Skills Clinic to help children of all basketball skills levels work on a variety of techniques is being offered this fall by the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University.
The clinic, scheduled for seven Saturday mornings beginning Sept. 30 through Dec. 2, is designed for beginners through the more advanced child. Children will be divided into groups based on skill level and will be given pointers, instruction and skill development within all areas of the sport.
Instruction will be given in dribbling, passing, shooting, sportsmanship, teamwork and more. The program will be fun, safe and educational, and is recommended for children ages 4 to 12.
Cost of the program is $40 for children not affiliated with a current University employee, student or paying member of the Student Recreation Center. The cost is $30 for children affiliated with a current University employee, student or paying member of the Student Recreation Center. The clinic will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and 28, Nov. 4, 11 and 18, and Dec. 2. All sessions will be in Parker Gym on the Southeast campus. Parker Gym is located just east of Parking Lot #35 along Henderson Street and between the Scully Education Building and the Power Plant.
All equipment will be provided. Children must wear tennis shoes.
