Aug. 23, 2007 – Youth sport skills clinics are being offered this fall by the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University for youth ages 4 to 12.
The clinics will cover volleyball and basketball skills and are designed for a wide range of skill levels.
Whether your child is a beginner or the next pro athlete, these skills clinics are a great opportunity. Children will be divided into groups based on their skill levels and are provided skill development within all areas of the sport. Volleyball coaches provide instruction in passing, setting, serving and hitting. Basketball coaches will cover passing, shooting and dribbling. Both clinics also will review game play, teamwork, sportsmanship and more. The program is designed to be fun, safe and educational.
Clinics are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. The volleyball clinic dates are Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, and Oct. 27. The basketball clinic dates are Oct. 20 and 27, and Nov. 3, 10 and 17. All sessions are held in Parker Gym, located just east of parking lot 35 (along Henderson Street) and between Scully Education Building and the Power Plant. All equipment is provided; however, participants must wear tennis shoes. The cost is $40 per child for affiliated individualsᾰcurrent employees, students and paying members of the Student Recreation Centersᾰand $50 per child for non-affiliated individuals.
